Folky singer-songwriter P. L. Gosling’s lo-fi sound remains distinctive, while showing off his influences. The Bon Iver and Arcade Fire similarities he claims in ‘Quiet As A Mouse’ can be noted as he allows his gentle acoustic guitar to blend into the more electronic aspects of the track, while reverb-heavy backing vocals compliment his Northern-tinged accent. The unison guitar that follows the catchy vocal line of the chorus has a bright twang which shows off a developing maturity in Gosling’s songwriting in comparison to previous releases. -Dan Peeke
